Inga Marchand catches the Holy 'Goat', while Foxy Brown plots a comeback?
Alter-Egos. Do we really need them, what is their purpose? Some people use them to boost their esteem enough to do things their 'regular' counterpart may not have the courage to do. Case in point, Inga Marchand vs, Foxy Brown. It seems these 'two' have been dueling for years. When I read the story about Foxy Brown making a comeback in the 'NY Post'. I was hesitantly optimistic. Then once i read it, turned it upside down, walked away from it and came back--the lunacy of some of the things she was saying made me laugh--laugh out loud at that.
Pioneer rapper Foxy Brown insists that she is often misunderstood. Brown recently did a photoshoot for the NY Post and an interview. She claims that she is just plain ole 'Inga', the real diva is Foxy Brown. "Everybody around me calls me Inga, my fiance calls me Inga. Foxy Brown is just a persona."
Well, I suppose Foxy Brown is the person behind all the mayhem? So Foxy is behind 1997's spitting attack on hotel workers who failed to get the rap-star an iron she requested. Two years later it was 'Foxy' that was carted away by police after yelling obscenities while performing in Trinidad. In 2000,'Foxy' was the one that crashed her Land Rover while driving without a license in Brooklyn. On a trip to Jamaica in 2002, 'Foxy' allegedly punched a policewoman she thought was trying to detain her.
What finally landed 'Foxy' behind bars was her alleged 2004 assault of two Chelsea manicurists, who claim she attacked them over a $20 tab she refused to pay. Inga had nothing to do with all these occurrences, blame it all on Foxy! Lol. This is funny. Don't get me wrong, Foxy has and probably still is a BEAST on the mic. In her Heyday, Foxy, could hold her own EASILY against the males in the male-dominated rap game. No way am I taking anything from her talent. Her track record speaks for itself. But the legal stuff and this new found 'spirituality' is somewhat laughable. On one hand 'Foxy' is the 'troublemaker' of sorts, but then Inga is the 'saved' one on a mission for Christ?
So is she going to become a social-conscious rapper now? And since being saved, why would a saved individual even contemplate accepting a proposed 2 million to do a nude pictorial for 'Playboy'? At any rate, Foxy, Inga or whomever is still a hot commodity.
Foxy is planning a musical comeback. She promises a new album this year that she has been working on for some time, and she is penning a memoir entitled " A Gift and a Curse"! Wheteher or not she will do 'Playboy' remains to be seen. We may see the 'Ill Na Na' live in living color on a glossy photo spread soon? Needless to say, it would be good to see Foxy, however, make a comeback in the rap game. There are two sides to every story, and there are 2 sides to all performers these days, so we will see if Foxy & Inga can come to an agreement to get back in the game and bring real RAP back again, with limited run-ins with the law. At present, there is only one FEMALE that is holding it down right now. Wouldn't it be EPIC if Foxy & Kim called a temporary 'truce' and joined forces to take down the 'evil machine' that goes by the name of MINAJ? Now that would be a story worth reading. Until then.... we can reminisce, can't we......
