Wendy's Claim their fries are better than McDonald's!

When you see those 'Golden Arches', whats the 1st thing that comes to mind??   French Fries!! Ask any 3 year old.  When they see the sign, even before they can say their last name, they relate the 'Arches' to french fries.Wendy's Fries vs. McDonald's Fries

McDonald's has touted for decades that they have "America's Favorite Fries".  This claim does not go without merit.  They have the proof of millions to back that claim up.  But now Wendy's is claiming :

"In a national taste test, consumers said Wendy's fries taste better than McDonald's. When asked which they thought taste better after sampling both, 56% of participants chose Wendy's Natural-Cut Fries with Sea Salt. Only 39% preferred the taste of McDonald's."

Wow! Wendy's is taking on a mammoth of adversary here with this claim.

Wendy's claims their nationwide French fry survey was conducted by an independent research firm in eight American cities. However, there's some question about whether their resulting data is skewed -- it's their marketing campaign, after all.

Wendy's new fries are "made from 100% Russet potatoes and sliced 'natural-style' with the skin on for additional texture and taste, then cooked in proprietary oil that has 0 grams trans fat per serving. They are finished with a dusting of natural sea salt to further enhance the flavor." (Medium size: 420 calories.)

McDonald's "World Famous Fries" are "golden on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Made with quality potatoes and cooked in our canola oil blend for zero grams of trans fat per serving." (Medium size: 380 calories.)

Out the gate, some may pick Mickey D's just for the sheer fact that they offer less calories.  I tried the new fries from Wendy's and they are 100% better than the ones they were serving before.

However, my sentiment wasn't shared by all.  Kandi of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta , and the hit R&B group Xscape recently tweeted that she hated the new fries from Wendy's.

But McDonald's definitely has the clout and reputation for having great french fries. McDonald's very identity is synonymous with there signature spuds.  So I don't think they have anything to worry about.  But Wendy's is well on their heels and you must admit its an impressive marketing venture to seek to dethrone the reigning 'king' of fries.

Try them yourself, Wendy's Natural Cut Fries are indeed good, and so are McDonald's.  So you be the judge.
