I thank TVone's series 'Unsung' for shedding light on artists that have for whatever reason, have not gotten the appropriate shine they deserved. Case in point, who knew Alexander O'Neal was such a prolific star in his time? I never knew that Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis brought Alexander O'Neal in on a group they were forming that would eventually evolve into 'The Time'! Did you know that? But O'Neal was ousted from the group quickly because he and Prince did not see eye to eye about the finances. So before it even got off the ground, O'Neal was out of the group! I guess no one questions Prince, right? Alexander O'Neal went on to amass huge hits on his own despite being ousted from 'The Time'. Let's revisit some of his biggest hits!
