'Super Bass' rapper, Nicki Minaj is 'Principal for a Day'!

Nicki Minaj 'loves the kids!' Earlier this week, Nicki Minaj surprised a group of high school students at Chicago's Collin's Academy this past Wednesday.
The students who won the 'Get MotivatED Challenge' – a six week competition to improve daily attendance rates nationwide were rewarded for their academic achievement and for the 7% increase in attendance. Nicki also led an English class and had lunch with the pupils. She commented:

“I am a young, female mogul before I am an artist. As a business woman there isn’t a single day where I don’t use my education or acquire new knowledge to ensure my success. Regardless of where you are today, with education you can take yourself where you want to be. That’s why I am working with the Get Schooled Foundation. They are finding innovative and exciting ways to bring that message to schools like the Collins Academy.”

Nicki stopped by the school to answer questions from a few chosen class seniors and freshmen in the school gymnasium as well as address the entire school body during an assembly hosted by MTV News’ very own Sway. Nicki, a graduate of New York’s LaGuardia High School herself, spoke to the students and faculty members about the importance of her education in her career.

“It was total pandemonium when she came out. They all stood up. I had to have them to sit down and tell them it ain’t a concert,” Sway told us laughing. “If your parent tries to tell you what’s best for you, you tend to not listen. But if that hero and person that they look up to like a Nicki Minaj—if she comes on stage and says, ‘You know what, you like the life I live? You like the things I’ve accomplished?’ Well this is how I did it, through education.’ Then you see that moment of clarity when everything clicks.”

Three Collins’ students who showed tremendous leadership during the six week period were awarded with $10,000 scholarships thanks to Get Schooled and Comcast. The College Board also donated a new counseling library to the school and provided one-year of free access to SAT prep on-line for every junior and senior in the class.

TAKE A LOOK AT THE PANDEMONIUM!!
