Atlanta Film Festival: 'The Start of Dreams' Movie Premiere!

Where does a dream originate?

Is it a flicker in one's eye,or a slow building emotion that emanates from one's heart?  A dream begins with a thought then another thought than an action, that's the start of dreams.
On last night I had the pleasure of attending the Atlanta Film Festival's screening of Kenny Leon's 'The Start of Dreams'.  'The Start of Dreams' was produced by Jennifer Gordon Thompson and directed by a group of amazing guys, The Horne Brothers.  This documentary is the story of award-winning director and actor Kenny Leon, as he guides aspiring young actors to Broadway in his annual August Wilson Monologue
competition.  Top film and screen actors like Denzel Washington, Phylicia Rashad, Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson offer poignant gems throughout the piece on the importance of the art form, what it means to humanity and the importance of chasing, cultivating and expressing that 'dream'.

The stars were aligned last night as I watched hanging on every scene of the riveting and touching piece. Each scene so poetically expressed on the screen by Kenny Leon and the host of accompanying players, and so seamless, and expertly directed and edited by my good friends The Horne Brothers.  This story is an inspiring one. A story that everyone who ever had a dream or longed to be somewhere they feared they could never travel should see. It's a story of the ages.
