'Boston Rob' finally wins Survivor-Redemption Island!

Survivor-Redemption Island came to a close on last night with 'Boston Rob', being the last man standing as the 'Sole Survivor'.

Rob Mariano was finally able to outwit, outplay and outlast all others to take home the million dollar prize!

Rob has played in 4 seasons of Survivor and a record of over 109 days spent out in the wild vying for that title.  He finally learned all he needed in his time there and strategized his way to the top.  Early in the game it was apparent that Rob was 'The GodFather' of his tribe and he was pulling all of the strings.  He made alliances with many castaways and had to lie and scheme to keep his house of cards from toppling over.  Proving himself a tough competitor in the immunity challenges also helped Rob clench the victory.

Not only did he will a million, but he also won $100,000 more provided to the Sprint player of the Season, that was voted upon by the viewers.

Congratulations to Rob Mariano for his win.  This finale was less climatic than others I've seen.  It was almost a cinch that Rob would win.  He took the two people with him to the final tribal council that no one wanted to vote for.  He was a 'shoe in.'  I attentively watched this whole season and wondered why when the opportunity presented itself, no alliance rose up and took Rob out like they did for villain Russell?  Rob ran his 'alliances' like a cult with no one talking with the others to see what info Rob had given them.  Rob promised each of his alliance members that he would take them to the top with him, but one by one he masterminded each and everyone of their demise.  I suppose that's the 'outwit' part.  And that is what won him the million!

The venerable show 'Survivor' has been around for 11 years and 22 seasons!  That is a feat in itself, and it still pulls in huge ratings.  This fall, Redemption Island comes back again for Season 23 when a new group of castaways are dropped off in The South Pacific!  Two past players will return to join the group as well, adding a twist to the game and then again there is Redemption Island.  When you lose, you may just get a chance to re-enter the game--if you can survive the duals that is.
I wonder if Phillip will be one of the returnees?  Maybe it should be Phil and Parvati? Or maybe they will go with 2 female 'villains'?  We shall see this fall.....
